There are three distinct phases to the Kombi of Hope project. All phases have the backing of The Cancer Council NSW

1. RESTORATION – CURRENT PHASE

This phase is integral to the success of the Kombi of Hope project. To be able to fundraise for The Cancer Council NSW, the vehicle has to be restored to a roadworthy condition.

Since the Kombi of Hope is not a registered charity, those donating to the Kombi Restoration Fund cannot by law receive an official Cancer Council receipt. The money raised in this phase will ONLY go towards restoring the Kombi, NOT to any of the Cancer Council programs.

Those donating by cash or cheque, upon request, will be sent a copy of the Newcastle Permanent Building Society deposit slip (scanned via e-mail if possible) as proof that the money has been banked.

Complete quarterly audited records of income and expenditure with supporting monthly bank statements will be posted on this website. All deposits (including those via electronic transfer) and where the money is being spent, will thus be viewable to supporters.

2. POST RESTORATION – THE LAUNCH – FUTURE PHASE

In this phase, The Kombi of Hope will be officially recognized by the Cancer Council NSW and will be used to fundraise for The Cancer Council.

All donations in this phase will be made to the Kombi of Hope Relay For Life team and an official Cancer Council tax-deductible receipt will be issued for all donations of $2 and over.

3. THE END OF THE PROJECT

The Kombi of Hope project will be managed so that there will be no personal monetary gain from it. All monies raised in excess of the running costs will go towards supporting The Cancer Council via Relay For Life. Therefore, in the event that the Kombi of Hope is sold, all funds (minus personal costs incurred during the project and approved by The Cancer Council) will go directly to the Cancer Council NSW.
